Position: Executive Assistance

Established in 2019, the Deborah Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Ethiopian youth with mental disabilities through support in the areas of education, health, and policy advocacy. The Foundation is currently looking to hire a competent Executive Assistant to join our foundations team.

Basic Function/Purpose

Executive Assistant perform Administrative work and provide the CEO with day-to-day administrative support. Their duties include answering phone calls and managing correspondence, scheduling appointments, and making travel arrangements. They may also be required to organize events.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Reporting to the CEO and performing secretarial and administrative duties.
  • Typing, formatting, and editing reports, documents, and presentations.
  • Attending Board meeting, preparing agendas and taking minute
  • Entering data, maintaining databases, and keeping records.
  • Liaising with internal departments, answering calls, and making travel arrangements.
  • Managing internal and external correspondence on behalf of the CEO.
  • Scheduling appointments, maintaining an events calendar, and sending reminders.
  • Copying, scanning, and faxing documents, as well as taking notes.
  • Preparing facilities for scheduled events and arranging refreshments, if required.
  • Managing mail and courier services.
  • Other duties as per required by management.

Requirement

  • First Degree in Business Administration.
  • Preferred masters of business administration.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a personal assistant would be advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in creating documents and spreadsheets, using office software such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced typing, note-taking, record keeping, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage internal and external correspondence.
  • Working knowledge of printers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines.
  • Proficiency in appointment scheduling software such as MS Outlook, as well as call forwarding, google drive and google calendar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English, Amharic and other language is advantageous

 

Preferable Requirements

  • Master of Business Administration or related field
  • Other languages other than English and Amharic
  • 1-2 years of experience as a personal assistant.

Position: Physiotherapist

Deborah Foundation in partnership with Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Oromia Regional Government and Amhara Regional Government is currently looking to hire a friendly and competent Physiotherapist to join our foundations team. If you are passionate about working with children and helping children with Intellectual and Mental Disabilities live a long and fulfilling life, then we urge you to apply.  

Basic Function/Purpose

To assist, support, and work closely with teachers, administrators, and other team members in providing quality physiotherapy for children diagnosed with mental and intellectual disabilities.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide quality physiotherapy to children diagnosed with Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities.
  • Evaluate patients to determine whether physiotherapy interventions are necessary
  • Organize therapeutic physical exercise sessions
  • Providing education and advice about exercise and movement
  • Regularly measure patient progress by looking for signs of decreased stiffness, pain, and discomfort
  • Evaluate effects of therapy treatment and communicate patients’ progress
  • Recommend new tools and equipment to assist patients with regular exercise
  • Record and document patient care services
  • Liaise with professionals such as doctors and nurses

 

Qualifications

  • Degree in Physiotherapy or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
